Teleology
A comment I posted to Sabine Hossenfelder's You Tube video Teleology
Me:
Teleology is a natural consequence of the dual information domain, (above and below the Compton scale of an electron), model of quantum mechanics that I proposed in my book The Cosmic Computer, which is available as a paperback or free pdf download here: https://www.thecosmiccomputer.org/ Informed criticism welcome.
An electron orbiting at the Bohr radius of an atom travels at 1/137 (the fine structure constantα) of light speed, and this is where the electron is most likely to be. Going down in scale byαwe come to the Compton scale of an electron where confinement accelerates it up to light speed c. Going down again in scale by a further factor ofαwe come to the classical electron radius, the centre from where the electron’s charge acts, lying close to the nucleus scale. Here, the electron’s confined charge moving at c/α, or 137 times light speed, would have enough self repulsive -ve charge energy to account for all its rest mass. Dirac’s equation describes the electron as flipping continually between forward and backward motions at light speed as well as flipping its charge. The faster than light region below the Compton scale allows for imaginary and reverse time measures.
So an atomic electron confined below its Compton scale must move faster than light and so explore imaginary time, and reversed time. The sub-Compton scale contains the future, and also provides a home for all the unrealised possibilities of the multiverse. The quantum domain below the Compton scale has a globalised view of all the information in the outer (above Compton) domain of reality – a standard feature for any Fourier Transform frequency domain that is dual to its time domain, and information in this inner world is stored as superposed spin direction/phase coordinates. The equations of quantum mechanics describe continuous cycles of Fourier Transforms – forward and reverse. With its superior non-local, globalised view of the universe, the inner world guides the outcomes of all quantum measurements made in the outer world, but it is a dual control process, and the cosmic computer allows all beings to participate in the decision process. So, as George Boole said: "the course of this world is not abandoned to chance and inexorable fate". Fate certainly plays its part, but it is not inexorable, we have some control in steering reality, our choices just have to respect the cosmic flow.
